Space tourism has gone from fictional to fact. Thanks to advancements in technology and passion of the companies that provided the journeys, private citizens can now actually go to space and experience it first-hand.
This paper will address the concept of space tourism, including early milestones, the existing providers, developments and future expectations.

An American engineer and entrepreneur, Dennis Tito became the first and only self-funded space tourist to spend about eight days aboard the International Space Station (ISS) in April 2001, after launch in a Russian spacecraft known as a Soyuz.
Tito was a pioneer who was able to accomplish his goals because he put himself forward and demonstrated that private persons may travel to space and leave the Earth’s atmosphere.
